CASE STUDY
Partnership
Since 2002, Shift Media have partnered McGraw-Hill to develop Online Learning
Centres to accompany their market leading textbooks. The partnership enables
McGraw-Hill Education to expand its educational offerings of online products
for the higher education market.
The aim of this project is to enhance McGraw-Hill's market-leading textbooks by taking advantage of the strengths of the online medium.
Project
Shift Media works with McGraw-Hill to produce a brief for each Online
Learning Centre [OLC] that is tailored to the book content, marketing
objectives and position in the market. We then commission authors, manage
and build the OLC in an electronic publishing system.
Examples of our work
The Online Learning Centres developed by Shift Media are made available
to student and lecturers.
Begg, Economics 8e, for McGraw-Hill
We commissioned vast amounts of material for this site, which is in a
market where supplements are extremely important to adoption decisions.
Note that we also repurposed material originally commissioned by the US
company in order to make this site extra rich without incurring US-style
development costs.
Jobber, Principles and Practices of Marketing 5e,
for Mcgraw-Hill
Like Begg we commissioned vast amounts of material for this site, which
is in a market where supplements are extremely important to adoption decisions.
This site also offers demos to help demonstrate how the site can best
be used and a host of multimedia content.
"Shift Media are giving us a competitive advantage by taking their
expertise in developing online learning centres and helping us leverage
the best of McGraw-Hill’s US technology for Europe."
