Worth Publishers

Founded in 1966, over the years Worth has kept its promise to publish small, strong lists of titles, primarily in mathematics and in the life, physical, and social sciences. All of the selected titles were always thoroughly developed and carefully marketed to ensure success. This focused effort in publishing extended to the packaging of ancillaries.

CASE STUDY

In 2006 - 07 Shift Media developed adaptations of two major economics texts for Worth. As part of this work we undertook research into the needs of academics teaching modules in economics via the review process, telephone and email questionnaires and web research. In addition we project managed the book to production, which included line editing, desk editing and indexing.

Macroeconomics (European Edition) by N. Gregory Mankiw and Mark P. Taylor.
Based on Gregory Mankiw’s hugely successful US edition of this text, Shift Media managed the whole process of developing the Europeanised version which was adapted by Professor Mark Taylor of Warwick University under our guidance. Not only did Shift Media manage the adaptation of the main text, but also the peripherals including the Instructors’ Resource Manual and the Solutions Manual and all of the website material. Economics (European Edition) by Paul Krugman, Robin Wells and Kathryn Graddy.
Working with Professor Kathryn Graddy of Brandeis University, Shift Media project managed the adaptation of this renowned economics textbook from its original US-centred text to the vastly updated and Europeanised version. Once again, Shift Media took the project through all the stages of the adaptation process along with all the peripheries and website content. Visit the Krugman Economics website (opens in new window)
