Shift Media research reveals needs of minority groups in Walsall
LONDON, 9 MARCH 2007. Walsall’s leading adult education college, The College of Continuing Education, looks set to further extend its reach into Walsall’s ethnic minority communities, following work with education sector research specialists Shift Media.
“We aspire to being responsive and inclusive.” said Colin Bedford, Vice Principal of the college, “Shift Media enabled us to learn more about the needs of the communities we serve. This will inform the development of our offering to learners in future.”
“Walsall is a diverse area”, said Jane Powell of Shift Media, “so we used a number of different methodologies to reach potential learners including telephone interviewing, on street interviewing and focus groups. We have a multilingual telephone interviewing team, which gave us the opportunity to reach people we wouldn’t have done otherwise.”
