A Virtual Learning Environment, or course management system, is an online platform for delivering learning resources via the web, allowing students at home or at college and distance learners to make use of the same materials. VLEs include tools for communication, assessment, course management and recording results. Using a Virtual Learning Environment educators can create online courses with rich interaction.

Moodle Course Systems

CASE STUDY
Begg 9e Economics Workbook, McGraw-Hill
We transferred the printed Begg Economics Workbook into a fully interactive
online format for the 9th edition of this textbook. Students are now able
to take part in the quizzes and receive immediate feedback on their performance.
Their scores are saved allowing them to track and monitor their progress
as they work through the exercises. We also commissioned an online graphing
tool for use with the workbook that allowed students to draw graphs in
many different formats.
